The Supplemental Nutrition Eligibility (SNE) collection is scheduled to open in mid-September 2009. Authorized users are required to upload records for all students who are eligible for free/reduced-price meals as of the supplemental nutrition count date of October 30, 2009.
Each student's eligibility should be reported at the district or districts in which the student is enrolled, not necessarily the school where the meal is received. The student need not actually receive a meal on the day this count is taken. Free milk or free/reduced-price meal eligibility is used to calculate awards for federal and state grants by the Michigan Department of Education.
Districts will have until November 12, 2009 to certify their Fall 2009 Supplemental Nutrition Eligibility data. Please refer to the documents in the Technical Resources section of this page for further details.
