Beginning in fall 2009, the pupil membership count and
participation data will be collected through the Michigan Student Data System
(MSDS). The Single Record Student Database has been retired.
Local districts' and public school academies' authorized users will be
submitting and validating data within the MSDS directly. The intermediate school
districts' (ISDs) users will be able to access data for all of their constituent
districts through the MSDS as well. Files may be uploaded in XML format only.
Data may also be entered manually online if needed. Please contact the software
vendor used by your district for maintaining student data to ensure that your
local student information system (SIS) is updated and ready for this change.
