 Corrections - About the MDOC

• Our Mission and Vision
The mission of the Michigan Department of Corrections is to create a safer Michigan through effective offender management and supervision in our facilities and communities while holding offenders accountable and promoting their rehabilitation. It meets its mission by ensuring that the state's judges and other criminal justice administrators have the broadest possible array of viable sentencing and sanctioning options, and by ensuring that appropriate supervision is maintained so that Michigan's citizens are protected.
