P2 Healthcare Missions, Goals and Objectives

Mission Statement

The mission of the Healthcare Pollution Prevention Partnership is to promote and further P2 throughout Michigan’s health care industry.

 

Goal

The goal of this partnership is to educate the industry regarding P2, and through this reduce the waste generated and released by the industry.

 

Objectives

The program objectives are:

  • Use innovative and cost-effective pollution prevention approaches to reduce waste and potential risks to human health and the environment.
  • Promote open dialogue and the exchange of information by maintaining a program website and a listserve for partners.
  • Develop materials (fact sheets, posters, etc.) in order to promote pollution prevention at facilities.
  • Conduct periodic training sessions throughout the state that encourage the adoption of P2 practices on site.
