To achieve a technical assistance based P2 initiative between the EAD and the state’s chemical manufacturing industry to further encourage the adoption of P2 practices among small chemical manufacturers based on common environmental issues and opportunities and a working relationship developed through a spirit of cooperation, an atmosphere of trust, and ongoing communications.

Objectives:

Develop and sustain an active workgroup of stakeholders to identify and provide direction on the P2 technical assistance needs and opportunities of small chemical manufacturers.

Provide technical assistance and promote technology transfer to small chemical manufacturers through a multi-tiered approach involving P2 resource awareness, waste and energy reduction assessments, demonstration project implementation, and case study development.

Provide financial assistance to small chemical manufacturers through a limited grant program, an intern program, and the Small Business Pollution Prevention Loan Program

Encourage the transfer of P2 knowledge and the exchange of non-proprietary technologies within the industry and among chemical suppliers.

Build P2 awareness among small chemical manufacturers through meetings, mailings, workshops, conferences, an initiative website, and development of case studies and fact sheets.
