The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) hosted a Green Chemistry Stakeholders meeting on December 12, 2007. The focus of this meeting was on Governor Jennifer M. Granholm's Executive Directive 2006-6, "Promotion of Green Chemistry for Sustainable Economic Development and Protection of Public Health" (Directive). Over 40 stakeholders, representing environmental groups, industry, and educators, took park in this day long meeting. Participants heard from experts on Green Chemistry and began to gain a common understanding of its application. The group discussed program priorities, partnering opportunities, and formation of the Green Chemistry Roundtable.
