Adoption Subsidy Tentative Payment Schedule

Pay Period Tentative Issue Date
July 2008 July 10
August 2008 August 7
September 2008 September 4
October 2008 October 9
November 2008 November 6
December 2008 December 4

Please allow for normal mailing time after the issue date. Please wait at least 10 days after the tentative issue date to report you did not receive your check.

For EFT, the payment is expected to be posted to your account one day after the issue date listed in the schedule above.

Please remember that if you elect to use EFT, and you move, you will need to send an address change to EFT, AND to the Adoption Subsidy Program Office.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
The new system allows you to sign up for electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT is not available to payees who are also on an Adult Home Help case.

Signing up for EFT makes it possible for the state to deposit funds directly into your bank account. Reasons you may want to use EFT include:

  • EFT payments are safer than checks. Payees need not worry about their state payments being lost or stolen when receiving an EFT.
  • Problems with EFT payments can be resolved in as little as twenty-four (24) hours, compared with an average of two weeks for paper checks.
  • EFT payments are easier than checks. Once payees sign up for EFT, they do not have to go to their financial institution to use or access their funds.
To arrange for EFT, you must sign-up through the Michigan Department of Management and Budget (DMB). This can be done online through the "Contract & Payment Express" on the DMB Web site at www.mi.gov/cpexpress. If you have problems with the online enrollment, please call 1-517-373-4111 for the Lansing area or 1-888-734-9749 for statewide assistance.
