Child Locator Unit (AWOLP Program)

The Absent Without Legal Permission (AWOLP) unit was developed in response to the large number of missing children from foster care across the State. Two departmental analysts were hired to track and locate children missing from foster care. This unit acts as a liaison with caseworkers, law enforcement, court staff, schools and other community agencies to bring children safely back into care. The unit helps incorporate, interpret and enforce policy and procedures for AWOLP children in Michigan. If you have questions or information regarding a missing foster care child contact 517-335-6944 or 517-335-6945.

Photo's and vital information can be found about our children on the   Michigan Missing Child Website.
