It is the responsibility of Volunteer Services to assess the needs of staff and customers for specific volunteer programs, and to fulfill those needs. This is accomplished through recruitment, orientation and training of volunteers. The Volunteer Services Coordinator supervises a variety of volunteers for specific programs.
Volunteers are able to learn new skills, become involved in the community, help others, and receive reimbursement for mileage and some meals. Some assistance programs allow DHS customers to forfill their social contract by volunteering.
