Early Childhood Investment Corporation grants focus on early childhood development and care
Today the superintendents of the Kalamazoo, Branch, and St. Joseph intermediate school districts will join board members of the Early Childhood Investment Corporation and local legislators to celebrate grants for local "Great Start" collaboratives that will strengthen early childhood development and care in southwest Michigan.

A new state task force, which meets for the first time today, will look at ways to connect foster youths with caring adults and help them transition into independent living.

The Michigan Child Support Program delivered impressive results for families and taxpayers in fiscal year 2005. Michigan child support workers collected and disbursed over $1.38 billion in child support for 434,967 Michigan children, and the program's cost effectiveness rating increased by 24 percent during the same period.
