Michigan Family Independence Agency (FIA) director Marianne Udow has announced the appointment of Cynthia Maritato of Pleasant Ridge to serve as director of the Washtenaw County FIA office effective February 28, 2005.

"Cynthia has demonstrated strong leadership skills throughout her more than 35 years as an agency employee," Udow said. "As director of the Washtenaw County FIA, Cynthia will continue to provide that same high quality leadership."

As director of the Washtenaw County office, Ms. Maritato will be responsible for administering federal cash assistance and food assistance programs, as well as child welfare and adult services programs.

Cynthia holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.
