Otsego resident Larry Boitnott has earned a "Star" award from Michigan Department of Human Services.

Boitnott, a departmental manager with DHS Region 3 in Grand Rapids, was one of five department employees and three teams of employees from around the state honored for excellent work, teamwork and providing quality service. Boitnott received the department's "Star" award during a ceremony in Lansing Feb. 27. He has worked for DHS for 26 years.

"Larry is highly committed to good customer service and the department's performance outcomes," said Department of Human Services Director Marianne Udow. "He is a tireless worker who always demonstrates professionalism, helpfulness and support."

The Star Award program is an annual employee recognition program started in 2007. Award winners were nominated by peers and/or managers.
