Lansing resident Cathy Truss has earned a "Star" award from Michigan Department of Human Services.
Truss, performance management specialist for DHS Office of Performance Excellence in Lansing, was one of five department employees and three teams of employees from around the state honored for good work, teamwork and providing quality service. Truss received the department's "Star" award during a ceremony in Lansing Feb. 27. She has worked for the DHS for eight years.
"Cathy has been responsible for implementing three new employee performance programs over the past 18 months," said Department of Human Services Director Marianne Udow. "Her ability to coordinate these statewide projects has helped meet the strategic planning goals of the department."
The Star Award program is an employee recognition program started in 2007. Award winners were nominated by peers and/or managers.
