Michigan Family Independence Agency (FIA) director Marianne Udow has announced the appointment of David VanHouten of Cadillac to serve as permanent director of the Wexford and Missaukee County FIA office effective March 14, 2004.
"Dave has demonstrated strong leadership skills throughout his 28 year tenure with the FIA in Wexford and Missaukee counties, most recently as acting director," Udow said. "I am confident that, as director of the Wexford/Missaukee FIA, he will continue to provide quality leadership."
As county FIA director, VanHouten will be responsible for administering federal cash assistance and food assistance programs, as well as child and adult services programs.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College with a major in Psychology. He is married and the father of three children.
