Interpreter Bill Reported

March 6, 2007--The House Regulatory Reform Committee unanimously reported a substitute to House Bill 4208 amending the Deaf Person Interpreters Act this morning. The bill strengthens the act by making it more consistent with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Division of Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Department of Labor & Economic Growth certifies interpreters under the act's provisions. The bill now goes to the House floor for action.
