The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is providing the Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority (MLBFTA) with an opportunity to demolish many of the blighted structures in its inventory that cannot be rehabilitated. Additionally, MLBFTA is creating partnerships for the possible rehabilitation of other structures.
MLBFTA has inspected the structures that are damaged and unoccupied, and has prioritized the timing of the demolitions so that the most blighted structures will be the first to be demolished. The parcels with less damage will then be scheduled for demolition.
MLBFTA is also coordinating the demolition planning and efforts with local municipalities and other NSP recipients, in order to maximize the revitalization impact in the communities.
In the near future, MLBFTA, through the State of Michigan's Department of Management and Budget Facilities Administration, will be seeking contractors for demolition of these structures. Applicants may visit the following web site where the bid solicitation will appear. MLBFTA will not be awarding any contracts directly.
