DNR Property Sales The DNR manages State-owned lands acquired through different sources. Most of these properties are dedicated as State Forests, State Parks and Recreation Areas, Water Access Sites and Wildlife Areas; and are not available for exclusive private use or for sale. However, periodically parcels are determined to be "surplus" and are offered for sale by auction to the public. The proceeds from these sales are used to acquire additional lands as replacement for the properties sold.
