Successful Camper Gas Saving Storage Program Extended (September 2008)

The pilot Camper Gas Saving Storage Program was scheduled to conclude on September 15, 2008.  Due to the overwhelming success of the program and numerous requests from campers and park staff to continue this program, the program has been extended through the end of the camping season at participating state park and recreation areas.

Hartwick Pines and North Higgins Lake State Parks will continue the pilot program through December 1.

Storage of camping units will remain free and limited to 15 days.  Campers wishing to take advantage of this program will have to show recent proof of a recent or future (within one week) camping stay at a Michigan state park or recreation area.
