Contact:  James Case 248-634-7271
Agency: Natural Resources

June 25, 2008

Department of Natural Resources state parks and recreation officials today announced the Dickinson Lake boat launch at Seven Lakes State Park will be closed July 7-17 for the construction of a new ramp.

The construction is being financed by the Michigan State Waterways Fund, which consists of restricted funds that are derived by watercraft registration fees and gasoline taxes collected in Michigan.

During construction, it is recommended that boaters use the Big Seven Lake boat launch, also located in the park. Questions about the construction project can be directed to the park at (248) 634-7271. Seven Lakes State Park is located at 14390 Fish Lake Road in Holly.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
