What is the Wolf Management Roundtable?

An advisory group of 20 diverse stakeholders has started a series of meetings to provide recommendations to the Department of Natural Resources for guiding principles for managing Michigan's wolves and wolf-related issues if the gray wolf is removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species. The group, called the Michigan Wolf Management Roundtable, recently held its first meeting in Newberry. 
 
The roundtable includes the following groups: Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Commission, Chippewa Ottawa Resource Authority, Defenders of Wildlife, DNR Wildlife and Law Enforcement Divisions, Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission, Farm Bureau, Michigan Humane Society, Michigan Hunting Dog Federation, Michigan Resource Stewards, Michigan Sheriffs' Association, Michigan State University Extension, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, National Wildlife Federation, Safari Club International, Sierra Club, The Wildlife Society, Timber Wolf Alliance, and Upper Peninsula Sportsmen's Alliance, Upper Peninsula Whitetails Association.
