Evelyn Moore: A Day in the Life

Evelyn Moore

Have you ever noticed how every office has one person who is a total clotheshorse? Her purse always matches her belt and she has seemingly hundreds of pairs of shoes to match her well-coordinated outfits? In DIT’s Office of Employee and Financial Services, Evelyn Moore is that person.  Her co-workers always look forward to seeing what fashion statement she’ll make each day.

In addition to her duties as resident Style Queen, Evelyn also serves as an Executive Secretary in OE&FS.  She reports to Fran Wresinski, the Director of Employee Services, and also provides administrative support to the Communications staff.  Evelyn is responsible for a lot of things, among them keeping busy calendars straight, answering phones that ring off the hook, and any other administrative tasks that are thrown her way.  Evelyn is also responsible for some of what you see here on TechTalk, and she has helped to plan several of DIT’s large-scale events.

Evelyn has worked for the state for 24 years.  She stared with the Department of Labor, and also worked for Treasury, State and Civil Service before coming to DIT.  She says her favorite thing about DIT is the people, because she has a good group to work with.  Her biggest challenge is keeping Fran’s crazy schedule straight; “she’s a busy lady!” says Evelyn.

When she’s not in the office, Evelyn dotes on her two grandbabies – one from each of her daughters.  Alaina is almost a year old, and Alvion is just five months.  If you see Evelyn in the coming weeks, be sure to say you saw her on TechTalk!
