Dear colleagues,
As always, the focus for the State Librarian's Excellence Award is on the excellent customer service and innovative library service you provide to your communities and your constituents. Each year we have a tough time selecting just one award winner and two recipients of citations of excellence, but we are always aware that there are more libraries that could have been nominated for consideration. Let's make this year's pool of nominations bigger and better than ever before.
Share this opportunity with your patrons, your community partners, your trustees -- with whomever you think would like to sing your praises and support your nomination as this year's State Librarian's Excellence Award winner. The nomination form is not complicated to complete, so there is no reason to miss out on being considered. The deadline is September 5th, so there is time to get it done.
Our thanks go out to the Library of Michigan Foundation and our corporate sponsors of this award, Hantz Group and our new co-sponsor EBSCO. The award will be announced and presented on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at the State Librarian's Luncheon during the Michigan Library Association Annual Conference in Kalamazoo. I look forward to seeing you there!
Regards all,
Nancy
