The Extended Experience

Age group: Students in grades 4 to 12
Program duration: 2 to 3 hours
Fee: $2 per child ($30 minimum)
Max. participants: 30

This tour is custom-tailored to meet the interests and needs of your students. It extends the museum experience by including a classroom pre-visit and a longer museum tour with a pre-assigned docent. A docent will visit schools within the greater Lansing area to prepare students for their museum visit. He or she brings reproduction artifacts for students to see and touch, emphasizing the hands-on, object-based approach to history they will encounter on their tour.

The Extended Experience lasts two to three hours and emphasizes the time periods you want your students to study, from Michigan's First Peoples to the 1970s.
