Oct 10 / 08 - Oct 11 / 08 Fort Fright held at Colonail Michilimackinac from 6:30-9 p.m. on October 10-11, 2008. Explore the wooden-palisade of Fort Michilimackinac at twilight and experience the legends and lore of the French Canadians who called this Great Lakes outpost home. Story-telling voyageurs, authentic 18th-century autumn treats, and haunted house part of Fort Fright experience. Admission. Oct 12 / 08 Mackinac State Historic Parks living history sites close for the season on October 12, 2008. Sites will reopen in early May 2009. Ongoing Events Jul 01 / 08 - Oct 12 / 08 Celebrating 50 Years of Historical Preservation and Museum Programs, through Oct. 12, 2008 Visited by nearly 20 million guests since 1958, Mackinac State Histoic Parks celebrates its 50th anniversary year.
