HAL Swainson Award

• Information About the Swainson Award
The Governor John B. Swainson Award is presented by the Michigan Historical Commission to state, county or municipal employees who have contributed to the preservation of Michigan history even though such activities are not part of their primary job responsibility.

• 2008 Swainson Awards
This year's winners hail from Ann Arbor, Au Sable Township, Detroit and Laketown Township.

Michigan Heritage Guardian Award medallion Presented for Outstanding Achievement in the Protection and Preservation of Michigan's Cultural and Humanities Resources. A project of The Michigan Alliance for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
