Stewards' Hearings Process
Stewards' Hearing Process PDF icon
The ORC is entrusted with the statutory duty to maintain the safety and integrity of pari-mutuel horse racing and wagering in the State of Michigan. The ORC is responsible for regulating the horse racing industry through monitoring, investigating and imposing penalties for violations of the rules. If there is some discrepency with these rules, a stewards hearing will be called.

The Office of Racing Commissioner has statutory authority under the Horse Racing Law of 1995 and oversees the its responsiblity with the Racing Commissioner General Rules.
