LANSING, May 9, 2008 - The Michigan Lottery has partnered with one of the state's premier vacation spots and is offering players the chance to win all-expenses paid trips to Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island!

The $5 Grand Giveaway instant ticket goes on sale Monday and it features over 500 top prizes of $1,000 ?a grand!?and four second chance drawings to giveaway 100 trips for two to American's Summer Place, Grand Hotel.

To enter a second chance drawing, players must submit one non-winning Grand Giveaway ticket either by mail or online through the Lottery's VIP Club, Player City, at www.playercity.net. Drawings will be held on June 3, June 24, July 15 and August 5. Entries must be received seven days before a drawing and twenty-five lucky winners will be selected in each.

The Grand Hotel travel prize includes room reservations for two for three days and two nights in a deluxe room; round trip ferry tickets for two adults, and one prepaid $100 gasoline card.

Grand Giveaway tickets are available at over 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers.

In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
