LANSING, April 29, 2004 – John Kidston of Montpelier, Ohio was thrilled to discover he had won a $5,505 prize in the Lottery’s Club Keno game!

The lucky winner played the 6-Spot Game, betting $5 on 6 numbers for five consecutive Club Keno drawings.  He matched six of the 20 numbers drawn by the Lottery in one drawing.  The prize for matching all six numbers in the 6-Spot Game is $1,100.  Because Kidston bet $5 on his wager, the prize was multiplied by five, resulting in a $5,500 prize! Additionally, he collected a $5 prize in one other drawing.

Kidston, who works as a hotel manager, purchased the winning ticket at The Clubhouse, 113 S. Main St., in Camden. He chose his winning number combination based upon family member’s birthdates.

“I picked up a winning number report from the bartender,” said Kidston.  “I was so shocked to win that I didn’t know what to do!”

The 41-year-old winner told officials at the Lottery’s regional office in Lansing that he kept the winning ticket in a safe to ensure its safety.  He added that plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

Club Keno is a fun, fast, continuous action game with drawings every five minutes.  Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time.  Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn.  The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.  Club Keno drawings take place seven days a week, every five minutes, from 6:05 a.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has transferred more than $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in the state of Michigan.
