LANSING, November 17, 2004 – Five very lucky Michigan residents have a chance to become an instant millionaire in the Lottery’s $20 Instant games grand prize drawing.
The $2 million will be a slam dunk for one of the five finalists. The grand prize drawing will be conducted at The Palace of Auburn Hills, during halftime of the Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers NBA basketball game on Friday, November 19.
The five finalists, whose names were drawn Friday, November 12, are Sandra Graves of Copemish; Judy Kolomak of Minden City; Gregory Kolowich of Croswell; Lori Shinabarger of Greenville; and Gerietta Walker of Detroit.
Sandra Graves, of Copemish, told Lottery officials that she can’t believe that she is one of the lucky five finalists in the $2 million drawing. The 65-year-old Graves said that if she wins, she has no immediate plans for her money, other than paying off some of her credit cards. Graves purchased the $1,000 winning ticket that entered her into the finalist drawing at
Copemish EZ Mart, 18866 Cadillac Hwy., in Copemish.
Judy Kolomak, of Minden City, was shocked when she found out she was selected as a finalist for the grand prize drawing. Kolomak said she doesn’t have any plans for the money if she wins, except to split the winnings with her daughter. She purchased her winning ticket at
Short Stop, 4404 Main St., in Port Hope.
Gregory Kolowich, of Croswell, said the Lottery made him “very happy” when he was told he was a finalist in the $2 million drawing. The 50-year-old Kolowich said he plans to buy his wife a house and help out his children and grandchildren if he wins. Kolowich bought his winning ticket at
7- Eleven, 1422 24th St., in Port Huron.
Lori Shinabarger, of Greenville, said she thinks it is “cool” that she was chosen to be one of the five finalists in the $2 million grand prize drawing. The 39-year-old Shinabarger told Lottery officials that if she wins, she will pay off her bills, buy a new car, and help her family. Shinabarger purchased the $1,000 winning ticket that entered her into the finalist drawing at
Greenville E-Z Mart, 115 E. Washington St., in Greenville.
Gerietta Walker, of Detroit, was in shock when she found out that she was one of the five finalists in the $2 million grand prize drawing. The 31-year-old Walker said that if she wins, she plans on buying a house and take care of her children. Walker purchased the $1,000 winning ticket that entered her into the finalist drawing at
Superland Market, 17021 Schoolcraft, in Detroit.
The $20 Instant games are different from most other Michigan Lottery Instant games because the top prize will be awarded through a drawing. All $1,000 winning tickets for “Double Millions” and “$2,000,000 Jackpot” that were claimed before the close of business on Wednesday, November 10 were automatically entered into the finalist drawing.
