LANSING, November 10, 2004 – One lucky Holt man is
$2.1 million richer after matching all six numbers in the October 27 drawing of the Michigan Lottery’s
WinFall game.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he and his wife plan to keep their winnings a secret. “We just want to be able to live comfortably and give to the people we want to give to,” said the winner. The couple plan to give money to their church and help out their children and grandchildren as much as possible.
Although the couple enjoy playing lotteries from all different states, their first big winning ticket was purchased close to home at
Derosa Grocery, 1959 Cedar St., in Holt.
WinFall drawings are held three days a week – Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager.
Tickets are available at thousands of Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.5 million.
