LANSING, March 17, 2005 – The luck of the Irish was looking over a very lucky
Warren man as he redeemed his winning Fantasy 5 ticket. The man waited almost two months until cashing in the
$100,000 ticket on St. Patrick’s Day!
The regular Lottery player couldn’t believe it when he was reading the morning paper and saw that all five of his own-pick numbers were listed as the winning Fantasy 5 numbers. The 68-year-old man picked his numbers from birthdays and anniversaries of his family members. He plans on purchasing a new set of golf clubs and sharing the money with his children – they were all born on the right day!
The lucky ticket was purchased at Party King Store, 3884 E. 13 Mile
Rd., in Warren.
Fantasy 5 is the Michigan Lottery’s newest game, which replaced Michigan Roll Down. Drawings for the game are held seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
