LANSING, March 22, 2005 – A very lucky Livonia man has claimed the top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s
Pure Gold Instant game. The man couldn’t believe his eyes when he scratched off the
$200,000 prize!
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, is a regular Lottery player who while at lunch, scratched the winning ticket. After a waitress confirmed that his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him, he couldn’t even finish his
meal! His wife was a little more skeptical … she didn’t believe it until Lottery officials confirmed that he really did win $200,000!
The 46-year-old man, who has no immediate plans with his prize money, purchased his winning ticket at
Nicholas Party Store Inc., 13820 Merriman Rd., in Livonia.
Pure Gold is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
