LANSING, March 28, 2005 – A very lucky Clarkston woman matched five numbers in the March 26 Winfall
drawing and claimed $20,930, a portion of the $5 million jackpot.
If the jackpot reaches $5 million and no one matches all six numbers to win the jackpot, the $5 million in the jackpot then rolls down to the match five, four and three winners, increasing those prize levels by up to 10 times the normal amount.
The winner, who plans to use her prize money to travel, said she was in shock when she read her numbers in the newspaper. The longtime player hid the ticket in a safe before turning it in at a Lottery regional office.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Rite Aid #4592, 5789 S. Main St.,
in Clarkston.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
