LANSING, July 11, 2005 – Janise Syling of Las Cruces, New Mexico was at a bar in Topinabee, playing Club Keno with family and friends when she hit it big! The lucky lady won a
$10,000 prize by matching all eight numbers in the 8-spot game.
“I was in awe and then giggled a lot when I discovered I had won,” Syling said. She plans on using the money to pay for her upcoming November wedding.
The lucky 44-year-old purchased the winning ticket at
Breakers Bar, 967 Straits Hwy., in Topinabee.
Club Keno is a fun, fast, continuous action game with drawings every five minutes. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more the numbers matched, the more the player wins. Club Keno drawings take place seven days a week, every five minutes, from 6:05 a.m. to 1:45 a.m.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2004, the contribution was $644.8 million.
