Lottery’s newest game a hit with players
LANSING, November 30, 2005 – Michigan Lottery players are kicking up their fun and winning millions in prizes with
Kicker, the Lottery’s newest game that is played in conjunction with the popular
Club Keno.
In just 10 days since its Nov. 20 introduction, Kicker sales exceeded $3 million and Club Keno sales set a record with over $16 million. Players won over $2 million in Kicker prizes in that time period.
“Club Keno has been a phenomenal success and it appears that Kicker is headed in the same direction,” Lottery Commissioner Gary Peters said. “Our players love it!”
Before each Club Keno drawing, a wheel spin randomly selects a Kicker number of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. If a person has played Kicker on their Club Keno wager, their Club Keno winnings are multiplied by the random Kicker number.
Kicker wagers are $1 for each $1 Club Keno wager. Overall odds of a Kicker number being 2 or higher is 1 in 1.74.
Club Keno and Kicker are offered in over 2,000 bars, restaurants and bowling centers throughout Michigan. All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
