LANSING, January 17, 2006 – Club Keno Kicker proved lucky for a
Dimondale man. The 29-year-old matched all eight numbers on his 8-spot game. He chose the kicker option, which multiplied his prize by two, and won a
$20,000 prize!
Jason Frost saw the numbers come up while he was bowling. He told Lottery officials that the entire bowling alley was excited for his win. He hid the lucky winning easy pick ticket in his pocket before redeeming it at Lottery Central in Lansing. He has no immediate plans for the money.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Pro Bowl, Inc., 2122 N. M L King
Blvd., in Lansing.
Immediately before each Club Keno drawing, a wheel spins on the Club Keno monitor selects a Kicker number of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10. Players can select the Kicker box on their play slip and pay $1 for each dollar originally wagered. Wins on regular Club Keno drawings will be multiplied by the Kicker number, allowing players the chance to win up to 10 times their original prize amount.
Kicker began on November 20 in all 2,000 locations selling Club Keno.
Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win and with Kicker, up to a $20 million top prize. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
