Mega Millions

LANSING, January 23, 2007 - A very lucky lady is $250,000 richer after she matched all five white balls, without matching the Mega ball, in the Jan. 9 Mega Millions drawing.

Anna Badour said she only plays the Mega Millions game when the jackpots are large and she was in "shock" when she and her husband realized they had won.

Her own pick ticket was purchased at M-20 Express Stop, 633 W. Isabella Rd., in Midland.  She plans to use the prize money to pay bills.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
