LANSING, May 8, 2008 - The second half of the
April 23 Fantasy 5 has been claimed! An anonymous woman matched all five
numbers and collected her $50,001 prize at Lottery Central!
The woman told Lottery officials she was
"dumbfounded" when she learned of her win from a retailer. The regular Lottery
player plays the same numbers, based on birthdays of her immediate family. She
plans to pay bills and save the remaining prize money.
The lucky winning own-pick ticket was purchased
at Sunshine Market, 27342 Joy Rd., in Redford.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven
days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
