LANSING, August 14, 2008 - A very lucky Missouri
couple claimed a huge $300,000 prize from the Lottery's 15th
Anniversary Wild Time instant ticket!
The 28-year-olds, who are originally from
Michigan, chose to remain anonymous.
The couple told a Lottery official that they were
in Michigan for a family reunion when they decided to stop and buy a Lottery
ticket. After scratching the winning ticket, they headed straight to Lansing to
claim their prize. Their families didn't believe their good fortune - even when
they said they were on their way to Lottery Central to claim their prize!
They plan to use to prize money to pay off debts
and help their families.
The winning ticket was purchased at Forward
#11, 1990 Brock Rd., in Alger.
15th Anniversary Wild Time is just one of
many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery
retailers statewide.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery
tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state
School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year
2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in
1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in
Michigan.
