Contact:  Stepheni Schlinker (517) 335-5648
Agency: Lottery

LANSING, May 13, 2002 -- The Michigan Lottery has completed the first "Bonus Drawing" for it’s Harley-Davidson® instant game, and is proud to announce that a lucky Lake Orion man is the grand-prize winner of a Harley-Davidson ® Sportster® 1200 Custom motorcycle!

Lottery officials were able to speak to the winner, who requested anonymity, after the drawing.

"Yes! Yes!," the winner said. "This is so cool! I tried to win a bike last year when the Lottery first introduced the Harley game, so I am very excited about winning a motorcycle this year!"

The 48-year-old winner, who enjoys fishing, golfing and hunting in his free time, said he has been a regular Michigan Lottery player for the past 10 years. The lucky man’s winning entry included non-winning Harley-Davidson® instant tickets purchased at Orion Keg & Wine Party Store, 2250 S. Baldwin Road, in Lake Orion. Additionally, he offered the following words of encouragement to other Lottery hopefuls: "Just keep playing – you will be lucky one day too!"

In addition to the motorcycle winner mentioned above, the Lottery gave away Harley-Davidson® brand merchandise prize packs, each consisting of one telephone, blanket, sunglasses, car/truck mats, license plate cover, leather hat and T-shirt to 300 lucky winners. A complete list of winners is available on the Lottery’s Web site at www.michigan.gov/lottery.

To enter the Harley-Davidson® bonus drawings, players mail in two non-winning Michigan Lottery Harley-Davidson® $3 instant game tickets in an envelope no larger than 4 ½ inches x 9 ½ inches, along with legible name, address and daytime telephone number on a separate sheet of paper to:

Harley-Davidson Bonus Drawing
5859 W. Saginaw Hwy. – PMB 347
Lansing, MI 48917-2460

Players may enter as many times as they like, but entries are limited to one entry per envelope and one name per entry is allowed. The remaining "Harley-Davidson®" instant game bonus drawings will be held May 31, July 12 and August 23, 2002.
