LANSING, May 14, 2002 – Michigan Rolldown
winners just keep rolling in! In the April 20 drawing, Carol Bassitt of Troy
matched all five numbers to win an $18,146 jackpot prize, before taxes!
The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 2,
5, 15, 30 and 33.
In total for the April 20 drawing, 19,350 winners
shared $62,432 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 80 winners
matched four numbers to win a $93 prize; 1,953 winners matched three numbers to
win a $10 prize; and 17,316 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The winning "easy pick" ticket was
purchased at Square Lake Party Shoppe,
42951 Dequindre Road, in Troy.
"I couldn’t believe it when I saw the
winning numbers on the television news and they matched the numbers on my
ticket," Bassitt said.
The lucky 59-year-old retiree said she kept the
ticket sealed in an envelope and tucked in a file to ensure its safety before
turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights. The
winner, who enjoys reading, gardening and traveling in her spare time, said she
plans to use her winnings to pay bills.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on
February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at
7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available
at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
