Agency: Lottery

LANSING, May 14, 2002 – A lucky Canton woman is a little richer today thanks to the jackpot-winning Michigan Rolldown ticket she recently purchased! The lucky lady matched all five numbers in the April 26 drawing to win the $19,112 jackpot. The winning numbers for that day were: 1, 5, 10, 21 and 33.

In total for the April 26 drawing, 20,869 winners shared $64,976 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 67 winners matched four numbers to win a $117 prize; 2,153 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 18,648 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at CJ’s Party Store, 4511 N. Territorial Road, in Dexter.

The lucky 43-year-old, who requested anonymity, works as a clerk for C&M Enterprises. The winner said she kept the winning ticket in a safe deposit box before claiming her prize at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. The winner, who said she enjoys playing sports in her free time, added that she plans to use her winnings to purchase a new car.

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
