LANSING, May 15, 2002 – Joan Pavazza of Clinton
Township recently chose a jackpot-winning number combination in the Michigan
Rolldown game! Pavazza matched all five numbers in the April 27 Michigan
Rolldown drawing to win an $18,114 jackpot prize! The winning numbers for
that day’s drawing were: 1, 12, 19, 24 and
26.
In total for the April 27 drawing, 19,438 winners
shared $62,605 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 77 winners
matched four numbers to win a $96 prize; 1,971 winners matched three numbers to
win a $10 prize; and 17,389 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at CVS/Pharmacy
08011, 16000 E. 10 Mile Road, in Eastpointe.
"I saw the winning numbers announced during
a television newscast," Pavazza said. "I have been a Lottery player
for the past 20 years, so I was excited to have won such a large prize!"
The lucky 71-year-old, who enjoys playing
Michigan Lottery games and working on home decorating projects in her free time,
said she chose her winning number combination by using family members’
birthdates. She added that she kept the winning ticket in her purse to ensure
its safety before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling
Heights. Though she said she has no specific plans for her winnings at this
time, it is certain that Pavazza will enjoy her recent windfall!
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on
February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at
7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available
at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
