LANSING, May 20, 2002 – Randolph Begley of Burton recently beat the dealer in the Lottery’s "Blackjack Doubler" instant game and won a $21,000 top prize!

The winning ticket was purchased at Kittles Market, 2185 E. Bristol Road, in Burton.

"I scratched off the ticket immediately after I got home from the store where I purchased it," Begley said. "I was completely surprised and shocked to see that I had won the $21,000 top prize!"

The lucky 50-year-old winner, works for General Motors, said he has several plans for his winnings, including home improvements, sharing with his children and taking a short vacation. There is no doubt he and his wife, Mary, will enjoy their recent Lottery luck!

Begley, who enjoys camping and hunting in his free time, added that he kept the winning ticket hidden in several different places—including in a safe at his home and under his mattress—before turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport.

"I kept moving it to different locations, just to make sure it would be safe," Begley said.

"Blackjack Doubler" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
