LANSING, May 23, 2002 – Cheryl Williams of Lapeer
recently chose a jackpot-winning number combination in the Michigan Rolldown
game! Williams matched all five numbers in the May 20 Michigan Rolldown drawing
to win a $16,391 jackpot prize! The winning numbers for that day’s
drawing were: 7, 19, 25, 28 and 31.
In total for the May 20 drawing, 17,784 winners
shared $55,438 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 83 winners
matched four numbers to win an $81 prize; 1,828 winners matched three numbers to
win a $9 prize; and 15,872 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Meijer
#140, 1555 DeMille Road, in Lapeer.
"I am so grateful to have won the
jackpot!" Williams said.
The lucky lady, who enjoys participating in
personal wellness activities in her free time, said she chose her winning number
combination with the help of a friend. She added that she kept the winning
ticket in a special container in her home to ensure its safety before turning it
in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport. Williams said she plans to
share her windfall with friends and family.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on
February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at
7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available
at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
