LANSING, October 2, 2002- Diandrea Bell of Detroit
experienced a little lottery luck when she matched all five numbers in the
September 24 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $14,815 jackpot prize!
The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 6, 17, 19, 20 and 25.
In total for the September 24 drawing, 16,785
winners shared $50,365 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 68
winners matched four numbers to win an $89 prize; 1,826 winners matched three
numbers to win an $8 prize; and 14,890 winners matched two numbers to win the $1
prize.
The lucky ticket was purchased at K&G
Food Mart, 2662 W. Davison, in Detroit.
"I discovered that I had a jackpot-winning
ticket after I saw the winning numbers on television that night," said
Bell. "I was very surprised!"
The 40-year-old winner, who works as an
underwriter for the Michigan Workers Compensation Bureau, said that prior to
turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn
Heights she kept it in a Bible to ensure its safety.
Bell, who enjoys working on arts and crafts
projects in her spare time, said she chose her winning number combination based
upon the birthdates of family members. She added that she plans to use her
winnings to make home improvements.
The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on
February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week - - Monday through Saturday
- - at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at
more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
