LANSING, January 21, 2003 Cindy Drouse of Bay
City was pleasantly surprised to learn the 25 cents worth of pocket change she
recently spent on a Michigan Lottery Change Play ticket brought her a
$1,050 prize! Drouse was one of six lucky winners in the January 9 Change
Play drawing.
Drouse, 35, purchased the winning ticket at Double
S Party Store, 1461 S. Huron Road, in Kawkawlin.
"My co-workers and I like to play 25 cents a
day on the Change Play game," said Drouse. "I was surprised to
discover I had won a $1,050 prize!"
Drouse said she kept the winning ticket locked in
a safe at work prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in
Bridgeport. She said she currently has no special plans for her winnings.
The first Change Play drawing took place on
Monday, October 14, 2002 and drawings are held every night just after 9:00 p.m.
Change Play allows players to use loose change from any purchase to buy a chance
to win thousands of dollars with six guaranteed winners each day. The six
winning tickets are randomly selected in a computerized drawing that picks from
all the unique wagers placed that day. The six winners share the prize money
from that day’s drawing, and their individual winnings are proportional to the
amount they wagered on the winning ticket.
