Agency: Lottery

LANSING, April 4, 2003 – Everyone fantasizes that someday they will become instantly wealthy.  For Dorothy Blake of Redford that scenario is no longer a fantasy!  She recently scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Magic Money" instant ticket to reveal a $10,000 top prize!

Blake purchased the winning ticket at Knight Enterprises #6, 25810 Schoolcraft, in Redford.

"I scratched off the ticket while still in the store," said Blake.  "I began screaming, ‘I won! I won!’ and my brother thought I was joking.  I showed him the ticket and we both started screaming with excitement!"

Blake, 36, said she kept the winning ticket in her wallet at all times to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights.

The lucky lady said she plans to use part of her winnings to pay bills and share the rest with her children.

"Magic Money" is one of many instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
