LANSING, May 28, 2003 – Chad Smith of Detroit is carrying around some extra dough after scratching off a Michigan Lottery “Sky’s The Limit” instant game ticket to reveal a $10,000 top prize!

The lucky winner, who works as a police officer for the City of Detroit, purchased the winning ticket at Pied Piper,16215 Livernois Ave., in Detroit.

The winner said he scratched off the ticket while sitting at home and was shocked to discover he had won.

“I scratched off the ticket and said to myself, ‘This can’t be right’,” Smith said.  “I was so shocked that I asked members of my family to double check the ticket to make sure it was really a winner!”

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Detroit, the winner said he kept in his pocket at all times to ensure its safety.

Smith, who enjoys golfing and playing basketball in his free time, added that he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

“Sky’s The Limit” is just one of the many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
