LANSING, April 7, 2004 – Two lucky Oakland county residents – one from White Lake and the other from Oakland Township – recently experienced a bit of Lottery luck.

A White Lake man, who requested anonymity, reeled in big bucks after matching five numbers in the March 22 Michigan Rolldown drawing taking home a $12,719 prize!  The winning numbers for that’s day drawing were: 1, 5, 6, 25 and 27.

In total for the March 22 drawing, 14,211 winners shared $44,545 in prizes.  In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 43 winners matched four numbers to win a $121 prize; 1,384 winners matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 12,783 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.

The lucky 78-year-old winner purchased the winning “easy pick” ticket at VG’s Food Center #512, 7300 Highland Road, in Waterford.

The winner, who works as a real estate agent, said he kept the winning ticket in his checkbook to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights.  The happy man added that he plans to use his winnings to make home improvements.

The “Oak Park Lottery Club” of Oakland Township also won big bucks in the February 13, 2004 Mega Millions drawing. The club members matched five of six numbers to win a $175,000 prize!

The club purchased the winning “easy pick” ticket at Fast Track of Oak Park, 8600 W. 9 Mile Road, in Oak Park.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Mega Millions drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.  The next Mega Millions drawing is Friday, April 9, with an estimated jackpot of $105 million.  For more information about Mega Millions, visit the Michigan Lottery’s Web site at www.michigan.gov/lottery.
